Meet & Greet: New Murray State University President

Murray State University’s new president, Dr. Robert O. Davies, will spend the day in Madisonville on Wednesday, Aug. 13, visiting community leaders and others in Madisonville and Hopkins County. The day begins at 9 a.m. with Davies meeting members of the Madisonville/Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce, Mayor David Jackson and County Judge Executive Donald Carroll. Davies began his duties as the university’s 13th president on July 14. He came to Murray State from Eastern Oregon University, where he served as president for five years. He and his wife, Cindy, have a daughter, Katie.
